Need to know about your appointment
Novus Dermatology & Skin Health strives for excellence in dermatology care.
Our administration staff are welcoming and always endeavor to accommodate urgent referrals.
Referrals can be sent to us via fax (03) 42226030 or referral net. Please call the practice to book an appointment.
For dermatology patients, we can see you with or without a referral, but to be eligible for any Medicare rebates for consultations, biopsies and other medical procedures, you will need a referral from your general practitioner (referral will be valid for 12 months) or from a specialist (valid for 3 months).
We do not accept indefinite referrals. An updated referral from your GP is required every 12 months to make sure that we have the most updated information about your health and current medications.
In Summery referral is required for New patients, Existing patients with a new or additional condition, Existing patients who haven’t attended in 12 months+
Patients who would like to see one of our highly skilled general practitioner colleagues Dr Reza Amirtouri or Dr Avinash Rajcoomar at Skin Check Clinic Do Not need a GP referral.
For patients with less complicated skin conditions, we can offer a sooner appointment with Dr Amirtouri. These patients skin concern will be discussed with Dr Taklif.
Is it possible to claim the fees on a private health insurance?
Unfortunately, the private health insurance only covers medical services provided in hospital.
For overseas patients and International students
Rebates are available for patients who hold a valid Medicare Card.
Patients without a Medicare card e.g. international students and overseas patients do not usually require a referral, but we encourage you to involve your GP in your care by bringing in an initial referral. Rebates are available for patients who hold a valid Medicare Card.
How to book an appointment
To book an appointment, please call to speak to reception. We are NOT able to book appointments via email or via our website. We will need to speak with you to obtain more information about your skin problem and your referral to help us triage the referral request and book a suitable appointment for you.

Cancellation policy & non- attendance policy
We understand that there are circumstances when a patient is unable to attend the appointment. We respectfully request 48hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment.
For our cosmetic and laser clinic, we ask for 48hours cancelation notice. For late cancelations or if you do not attend your appointment a $50 cancellation fee will be required.
We would like to ask our existing patients who have an enquiry about the test results or treatment to call the practice.
As we strictly are committed to confidentially, information/data protection and patient safety, we advise the patients that our doctors and staff members are usually unable to exchange email regarding existing or new skin issues or discuss treatments via email.
